Spain Lifts COVID Certificate Requirement for Visiting Britons

The Spanish Ministry of Health declared the news of removing the entry rules, applicable from 21 October.
The ministry declared the news through its official Twitter account. It stated that the health control measures for visitors from non-EU or Schengen nations stand ineffective starting October 21.

As per this statement, Britishers and travellers from other countries can now visit Spain without any restrictions. Plus, they don’t need to produce proof of valid vaccination, recovery or test.

In addition to revoking the condition of showing COVID passes, tourists from the United Kingdom and non-EU nations don’t need to complete the health control form as well. Spanish authorities lifted this condition in September stating that it is no longer required.

And now, considering the vaccination rates and the pandemic situation, the ministry decided to lift the requirement for COVID test reports.
The ministry focused on the statement “Considering the epidemiological situation and the pandemic’s evolution at the global level, it advises removing sanitary control measures for visitors from non-EU nations.”

According to the World Health Organization data, 20,652 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded to recover in the last seven days.
European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) presents another data related to vaccination rates in Spain. As per the report, 103,064,170 vaccine doses have been administered in Spain as of October 20. Plus, 86% of Spain’s adult citizens have received the primary vaccination with another 66.3% receiving the first booster injection.

With entry rules dropped by Spain and restriction-free entry allowed, international arrivals are expected to go up in the coming months.
Earlier in September, around 5 million visitors arrive in Spain through international airports. which is 87.6% of the arrivals in 2019 for the same month. Moreover, the expenses of the visitors also approached the pre-pandemic levels in September.
