Spain Prolongs Ban on Non-Essential Travel From Third Countries for Another Month

Considering the current COVID-19 situation and the spread of the new Omicron variant, the Spanish Government has decided to extend the entry ban that has been assessed against the maturity of third countries.

 According to an sanctioned publication made by the Ministry of Health of Spain, the entry ban assessed against those who reach the Spanish home for unnecessary purposes will remain effective until the end of January 2022.

 

 This means that trippers from the maturity of third countries who are unfit to present a valid vaccination instrument will be denied entry when reaching Spain for trip purposes.

 

 In discrepancy, trippers who can present a vaccination instrument that proves that the holder has been completely immunised against the contagion with one of the recognised boluses can enter Spain for trip purposes without being needed to give an essential reason for their trip.

 

 

 The unnecessary trip ban also applies to all trippers from the UK as the ultimate has been relating increased Omicron infection cases.

 

 Despite the fact that Spain continues to keep strict restrictions for all those arriving from non-EU/ Schengen Area countries to help the spread of the Omicron variant, several third countries aren't affected by the temporary entry restrictions as they've been reporting low infection rates.

 

 Spain’s list of epidemiologically safe third countries presently includes Argentina, Australia, Bahrein, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Indonesia, Kuwait, New Zealand, Peru, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, China ( including Hong Kong, and Macao).

 

 All persons who reach Spain from one of the countries mentioned over are permitted entry without being subject to the ban on unnecessary trip or other rules similar as testing and counterblockade conditions. Still, everyone must still fill in a Health Control Form.

 

 “ Whichever country you're arriving from, all passengers arriving in Spain by air or ocean (ferry), including passengers making flight transfers and children under 12, must fill in a health control form before they start their trip,” the statement of Spain’s sanctioned tourism website, Trip Coffer, reads.

 

 The data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that Spain has registered new COVID-19 cases in the last seven days. The country has also registered several Omicron variant infection cases.

 

 The numbers from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reveal that Spain has reported 69 infection cases with the Omicron variant as of December 19.
