Spain Prolongs Ban on Non-Essential Travel From Third Countries for Another Month
Spain Prolongs Ban on Non-Essential Travel From Third Countries for Another Month
Considering the current COVID-19 situation and the spread of
the new Omicron variant, the Spanish Government has decided to extend the entry
ban that has been assessed against the maturity of third countries.
According to an
sanctioned publication made by the Ministry of Health of Spain, the entry ban
assessed against those who reach the Spanish home for unnecessary purposes will
remain effective until the end of January 2022.
This means that
trippers from the maturity of third countries who are unfit to present a valid
vaccination instrument will be denied entry when reaching Spain for trip
purposes.
In discrepancy,
trippers who can present a vaccination instrument that proves that the holder
has been completely immunised against the contagion with one of the recognised
boluses can enter Spain for trip purposes without being needed to give an
essential reason for their trip.
The unnecessary trip
ban also applies to all trippers from the UK as the ultimate has been relating
increased Omicron infection cases.
Despite the fact that
Spain continues to keep strict restrictions for all those arriving from non-EU/
Schengen Area countries to help the spread of the Omicron variant, several
third countries aren't affected by the temporary entry restrictions as they've
been reporting low infection rates.
Spain’s list of
epidemiologically safe third countries presently includes Argentina, Australia,
Bahrein, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Indonesia, Kuwait, New Zealand, Peru, Qatar,
Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, China (
including Hong Kong, and Macao).
All persons who reach
Spain from one of the countries mentioned over are permitted entry without
being subject to the ban on unnecessary trip or other rules similar as testing
and counterblockade conditions. Still, everyone must still fill in a Health Control
Form.
“ Whichever country
you're arriving from, all passengers arriving in Spain by air or ocean (ferry),
including passengers making flight transfers and children under 12, must fill
in a health control form before they start their trip,” the statement of
Spain’s sanctioned tourism website, Trip Coffer, reads.
The data from the
World Health Organization (WHO) shows that Spain has registered new COVID-19
cases in the last seven days. The country has also registered several Omicron
variant infection cases.
The numbers from the
European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reveal that Spain has
reported 69 infection cases with the Omicron variant as of December 19.
