Spain Prolongs Entry Ban against Arrivals from Third Countries until End of November
The
Spanish authorities have announced that the government has decided to extend
the entry ban imposed against the majority of third countries for another
month.
According
to an official publication made by the Ministry of Health of Spain, the ban
imposed against those reaching the country for non-essential purposes will
remain effective until November 30, and on December 1, the Ministry will come
out with a new decision, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
In
line with the current ban that Spain has, third country travellers who do not
hold a valid vaccination certificate are not permitted to travel to the
country.
On
the other hand, those who present a vaccination certificate that indicates that
the holder has been fully immunised against the virus with one of the accepted
doses can enter Spain for travel purposes without having to provide an
essential reason for their trip.
Even
though Spain is keeping strict entry restrictions for arrivals from
non-EU/Schengen Area countries, several territories fall under its exemption
list since they have identified low infection rates.
Spain’s
list of epidemiologically safe third countries at the moment includes
Australia, Argentina, Bahrein, Canada, China, Chile, Colombia, Jordan, Kuwait,
Namibia, New Zealand, Peru, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South
Korea, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, Taiwan, and the Chinese administrative
regions of Macau and Hong Kong.
Travellers
from any of the safe third countries mentioned above are permitted to travel to
Spain without being subject to the travel ban or the testing requirement.
Nonetheless, they are still obliged to fill in a Health Control form.
“In all cases, it is mandatory to fill out the Spain Health
Control form (FCS). It must be completed and signed it online before your trip
to Spain. Bear in mind that you cannot use the paper form. You must download
your QR code and show it to the national authorities either on your mobile
device or printed on paper,” the authorities noted.
Apart
from the countries mentioned above, Spain is currently keeping strict
restrictions in place against several EU countries that have been identifying
increased infection cases.
Travellers
reaching Spain from a large share of EU countries that are part of the
high-risk list need to provide proof of vaccination against the virus or proof
of recovery. Those who do not hold any of the two certificates must present a
negative test result in order to be permitted entry.
