Tourism Boost on the Rise for Southeast Europe

With the interest in Southeast Europe touching an all-time high, it is anticipated that tourism in this region will increase significantly.
SchengenVisaInfo.com reports that the region is also seeing an increase in interest in investments in hotels. Increasing awareness among tourists about this region as a new tourism destination is the reason as stated by a news New Deal Europe (NDE) shared.
Tim Murn, the cofounder of NDE, noted, “The Balkans are booming. It is one of the last exotic regions of Europe but more and more people are looking at it because it has such diversity – from the Alps to the Aegean, it offers culture, natural attractions, beaches, mountains, foodie attractions, wine and skiing.”
The company’s annual trade marketplace will be held on March 24 that will bring together tourism suppliers from every Balkan nation. Targeted countries include Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Slovenia.

According to the co-founder of NDE, it is one of Europe's last exotic locations. Moreover, he believes it will attract more people due to its diversity of culture, skiing, beaches, and natural beauty.
Additionally, the region provides excellent value, particularly for non-EU nations. Also, Albania is one of the most promising destinations. More than eight flights operating per day from the UK to Albania suggest a rise among British travellers in this nation.
Albania's tourism industry looks promising and it should be able to compete with its neighbour Greece. Albania and Greece previously entered into a cooperation agreement to improve their relations, particularly in the tourism sector. Both nations pledged to promote their destinations and attract more tourists.
Mirela Kumbaro, Albanian Minister of Tourism and Environment had a meeting with Angela Gerekou, the President of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). It emphasized the significance of preserving both nations' identities in the tourism sector. Following the meeting, this decision was made.

2022 was a record year for Albania with many hotel groups considering investing in the country. However, during the summer, specifically in July and August, Croatia had record numbers.
However, due to the country's extensive experience in green tourism, Slovenia is one of the best destinations for sustainable travel. According to NDE's founder, Moldova is a great place for wine lovers and has recently been listed on the platform.
