US travel: Updated Covid rules explained as tests dropped for fully vaccinated visitors
British holidaymakers can
travel to the USA without taking a Covid- 19 test before departure as the
country is set to lift testing rules from Sunday.
The US Government is to lift pre-departure testing
conditions for transnational callers to the United States, an elderly White
House functionary told journalists on Friday. This change will come into effect
after a night on 12 June.
Trip assiduity leaders have long campaigned for
this demand to be dropped. It has been in place for all transnational advents
aged two or over since January 2021 – the US restarted to UK excursionists in
November 2021. Callers have been needed to show a negative PCR or rapid-fire antigen
test effect taken no further than one day before the trip before boarding their
flight in order to enter the country.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
has reportedly decided that the tests are no longer necessary. It's to review
the policy again in three months.
Do I need to be vaccinated to travel to the US?
Yes, except for US citizens, US citizens, and some
other immunity, trippers
progressed 18 or over must be completely
vaccinated to enter the US. Your alternate cure should have been administered
at least 14 days prior to the trip.
Children aged 17 or under don't need to be
vaccinated to enter the country.
UK trippers
can use their NHS Covid Pass to prove their vaccinated status.
Do I need a supporter cure to be considered
completely vaccinated?
No, supporter boluses aren't needed to enter the
US. There's no expiry date set on the first course of vaccination.
What are the testing rules?
Completely vaccinated
trippers
will no longer need to take a Covid- 19 test
before traveling to the US, effective At 12.01 am, Eastern Daylight Time on
Sunday 12 June. Trippers who are listed to arrive in the US on Saturday will
still need to produce a negative Covid- 19 test result.
Do I need to fill out any Covid forms to travel to the US?
Yes, as it stands, although this may change
alongside the testing rules.
